About the Nonprofit

Beginning in October 2010, The King's Closet hosted several neighborhood clothing give-aways in Eau Claire. Through these events, we were made aware of how great the need is in our community, and having clothes available more often would be a great benefit. In the spring of 2012, we became The King's Closet - Chippewa Valley, Inc. and moved into our current facility at 310 S. Barstow St. in downtown Eau Claire. Since then, our volunteers have been very busy sorting clothing donations, setting up regional community clothing events, and loving every opportunity to meet the needs of our community.

About the Nonprofit

All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. In Idaho and across the US, too many boys and girls go without a bed—or even a pillow—to sleep on. These children end up sleeping on couches, blankets, and even floors. This can affect their happiness and health.

That’s where Sleep in Heavenly Peace comes in. We’re a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need. Our organization has grown steadily over time, and we’re working on opening more chapters in different states to serve more people.

Hope Village of Chippewa Falls

Hope Village ofChippewa County Impact Award Recipient

Congratulations to Hope Village of Chippewa Falls on being our February 2020 award recipient! Together, we donated over $20,000 to this organization in less than an hour!

About the Nonprofit

Hope Village was founded in January of 2016. Our vision is to offer tiny housing alternatives for those that reside in Chippewa County, WI. Hope Village will eventually be a community of 12 tiny homes nestled together and around a common building that will be the hub of the community. The common building will house the bathrooms, showers, laundry facilities, a community room, kitchen, meeting space, a maker space/shop, and retail space. We have researched various tiny home villages for the un-sheltered and want Hope Village to take the best of each, with the hopes of making Hope Village a great place to live and an asset to our community.

Each tiny home will have a sleeping area, a private bathroom area that will house a chemical toilet as you would find in an RV, a Kitchenette that will include a microwave and mini-refrigerator. Each house will cost about $5000.00 to build using volunteer labor and a mixture of new and recycled materials.
